The 137th Transportation Company (PLS) is a Army national Guard Unit based in
Olathe, Kansas. The mission of the 137th is simple "You Call, We
Haul." In wartime or peacetime the 137th is always ready for
action.
The picture you see below is the tool we use to ensure "What ever you
need, Gets where you need."
The primary mission of the five-axle PLS (Palletized Load System) is combat
support including distributing and resupplying ammunition and other critical
supplies. The PLS truck and trailer form a self-contained system that loads and
unloads a wide range of cargo without the need for forklifts or other material
handling equipment. The PLS has a hydraulically powered arm with a hook that
lifts various flatracks on or off the truck. Without leaving the cab, the driver
can load or unload the truck in less than one minute, and both truck and trailer
in less than five minutes
